1. Using Cookguy

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum digital consent age in your country, to use Cookguy. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms for you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of account information, keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and activity under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• use the Services for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes;
• interfere with the Services, bypass limits or security measures, scrape at scale, or introduce malicious code;
• reverse engineer the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• upload content that violates another person’s rights or privacy; or
• impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation, or use automated systems to abuse Cookguy.

2. Your content and generated content

You retain ownership of content you submit, such as photos, pantry items, recipe requests, ratings, and recipes you create. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for backup copies, legal retention, or content you shared publicly that others have already copied or used.

Cookguy may use automated and artificial-intelligence systems to recognize ingredients and produce recipes, images, translations, and answers. Generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate, or similar to content produced for other users. You are responsible for reviewing it before use. To the extent permitted by law, you may use generated content for personal purposes, but we do not guarantee that it is unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection.

Cookguy and its licensors own the Services, software, design, branding, and other materials we provide, excluding your content. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.

3. Food, allergy, and health safety

Cookguy is a cooking-assistance tool, not a medical, nutrition, or food-safety professional. Always use your own judgment and follow authoritative food-safety guidance, including safe handling, storage, cooking temperatures, and expiry advice.

Ingredient recognition and generated recipes may miss an ingredient, allergen, cross-contamination risk, dietary restriction, unsafe preparation step, or unsuitable substitution. Check product labels and every ingredient yourself. If you have an allergy, medical condition, or therapeutic diet, consult an appropriately qualified professional and do not rely on Cookguy alone.

4. Purchases and in-app credits

Cookguy may offer paid features or virtual credits, which may be called “Bowls.” Prices, included uses, expiry rules, and other conditions will be shown before purchase. Virtual credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be redeemed for money except where required by law.

Mobile purchases are processed by the applicable app store and are also subject to its payment and refund rules. Taxes may apply. We may change or discontinue paid offerings, but will respect rights already granted as required by law.

5. Availability, termination, and disclaimers

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or misuse the Services. You may stop using Cookguy at any time and request account deletion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or the accuracy, safety, originality, or suitability of generated content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cookguy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Disputes and governing rules

Before starting a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where the Cookguy service provider is established, without limiting mandatory consumer protections available where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.

6. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Cookguy or the law. We will post the updated Terms and revise the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use Cookguy after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
